Dysport® is an injectable used to improve the appearance of facial lines. Dysport® is made up of the neurotoxin, botulinum toxin type A. This neurotoxin is injected directly into overworked muscles that cause wrinkles, temporarily weakening them.
Patients should expect an improved appearance in wrinkles between the eyebrows, also known as frown lines or “the 11s”. Dysport® is known to work faster and last longer than other products. Results should be noticeable two to three days after treatment, and last up to four months. Dysport® injections take place at Dr. Plant’s Toronto/Leslieville/Riverside and North York locations. All injections are performed personally by Dr. Plant, never a nurse injector, as he is a firm believer that you should not trust your face to anyone who doesn’t have the extensive knowledge of facial anatomy that can only be gained by someone who operates in the area regularly. Those in the Markham, Vaughan, Scarborough and surrounding areas are encouraged to call Dr. Plant’s office for a consultation to have any questions answered.
Treatment sessions commonly take 15 -20 minutes, slightly longer for the initial consultation and there is no downtime associated with Dysport®. Some patients may experience a brief sting at the injection site, which resolves quickly on its own. Most patients excitedly report that there is no headache afterwards like they have experienced with other products. Those who are allergic to cow’s milk protein should not receive Dysport® injections.
