Procedure: Breast Implant Removal,
When this patient had her initial procedure with another surgeon her breasts were already ptotic and she needed a lift, however she was convinced to use large implants above the muscle to "lift" her breasts instead. 10 years later, she presented with a grade 3 capsular contracture on her left breast and a "rock-in-a-sock" deformity of both breasts from the weight of the implants stretching her skin out over the years. Because small breasts are more consistent with the more active lifestyle that she has adopted since her initial procedure, she opted to have her implants removed instead of replaced. Dr. Plant performed "en-bloc" capsulectomies and removed both implants before he used an "anchor lift" to rearrange her excess skin into a perky, small breast.
