In a recent article published on Cosmetic Surgery Times, it was reported that Galderma announced its second collaboration with an aesthetic brand in less than six months. The newest collaboration is a nationwide collaboration with Mentor Worldwide, which is mostly known for breast reconstructive and aesthetic methods and devices, such as Mentor MemoryGel® Breast Implants.

Galderma is known for popular dermal fillers and injection formulas, such as Restylane®, Dysport®, and Emervel®. Although the benefit for physicians and patients is unclear, research shows that up to 33 percent of women who had injectable treatments also underwent a breast augmentation. The collaboration is aiming to boost marketing strategies with ASPIRE rewards loyalty program, which is a free patient program that offers bonuses, rewards, and discounts to continued Galderma patients.

Plastic and reconstructive plastic surgeon Mathew Plant, M.D., looks forward to the benefits of industry loyalty programs, although specifics haven’t been announced.

“While they have not announced the specifics yet, I would imagine there will be a program similar to the competitors’ that allows patients who have had Mentor implants to receive some sort of discounted or complimentary treatment with a Galderma product (most likely Dysport), which would then get people into the physician’s roster of injectable patients,” Dr. Plant said.

He also says he believes this will create a healthy competition in the plastic surgery industry.
