According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, one of the fastest growing procedures is the labiaplasty. Labiaplasty focuses on the cosmetic and functional concerns with a woman’s vagina. So why are more and more women receiving this procedure? Here are some labiaplasty reasons to consider.

The main reason is to achieve what they believe is an aesthetically pleasing vagina. This ideal appearance varies for each patient, which makes labiaplasty a highly-personalized procedure. Depending on her particular desires and cosmetic goals, the procedure is generally performed to reduce the size of the labia minora so she feels more comfortable in her skin but may also involve reductions in the size of the clitoral hood, adjustments to the labia majora and tightening of the vaginal opening.
